I know it says in the release notes that the new ‘lite’ beta is restricted to 2 nodes, but does anyone know if that is the case? I’ve currently got lite running with unlimited nodes after receiving an email detailing that feature late last year.

Charlie : well it say that since B1 …i have a list of bug /issue … if they fix something it would be nice know what …

i have the feeling we lost a bit of communication with BMD (perfectly understandable when you have thousands of people complaining /requesting about a free software …)

ps: for what is worth i still vote for an “expensive” (certainly more than 1K) PRO version of resolve , that have more support etc…

where do you see that 2 nodes limit?
from november ’11, Lite is supporting unlimited nodes on mac, and windows.

from release notes for 8.2 Beta 3:

DaVinci Resolve Lite includes all the same high quality processing of the full
DaVinci Resolve. However it limits projects to HD resolutions or less, only
two color correction nodes, a single processing GPU and a single RED rocket
card. Stereoscopic 3D features, noise reduction, Power Mastering, remote
grading, and sharing projects using an external database server are features
only ofered in the full DaVinci Resolve and so are not included in this free
DaVinci Resolve Lite edition. Customers who want to eliminate these
restrictions can purchase the full DaVinci Resolve Software for only US$995.

I know they’ve been offering unlimited nodes, was just wondering wether anyone who had done the upgrade could confirm.

Supposedly Beta-3 for Windows has the ability to write Pro-Res, that is pretty big.

Tested it earlier today – it does indeed render ProRes (but not 4444). It feels like this should be bigger news!

Vladimir, could please post your ProRes render fps and your system specs, please?

Totally agree with you on the price point, but I would love even more for that DaVinci Lite nonsense to end. It doesn’t work well, it’s super buggy, it’s taking resources away from DaVinci, and it’s tarnishing its reputation.
And in case you haven’t noticed, the quality of questions in this forum lowered a lot too.

    I couldn’t agree more 🙂

Maybe its time for a new Forum.
Its getting a little out of hand how many different configuration people have and most of the problems are related to if they are able to run it.

I would suggest we are have a Pro-User Forum where we can discuss actually project related topics when we already reached the limits of the software, not our capabilities or the ones of the hardware.
It might also help Blackmagic identifying real bugs or problems.
