    Yes, that what I did,

but I think I have an other issue to solve : my pixel aspect ratio is not square but ‘DV’ which I think is 5/4.Do you think I can change that somewhere.

And when I output in PAL the image is a bit distorted in comparison with the original DV footage

  • Yes it should,

you can put 3 ‘2slots’ GPU cards at 16x and one more 8x card or three 1 slot GPU card and two 8x 1 slot card.

I don’t know if there are pci expender that can do better than 3 16x cards ?

Next step would be to put 2 cyclones together to put 5 cards !!!

  • Hello all,

    It works !

I just tested the cyclon pci expander and it works perfect.
    I installed 2 GPU (4800 and GTX 285) + my red rocket.

With 2 GPU it twice faster i resolve. I’m going to put one more card in the cyclone to get the best of it !

  • I’ve got one Cyclon in test. I’ll let you know this week how it worked

    Hello, You should use clipfinder.

    Export xml sequence from FCP.
Open menu “confrom FCP XML sequence” in clipfinder (free soft)
show it where the R3D files are
    Export xml to FCP

Create an EDLfrom this conformed R3D sequence in final cut

    It works perfectly…

    Ok, if found the solution,

    use HI5 converter from AJA.

    I’m buying it

    I agree with you Ola,
1°/DaVinci resolve in not expensive, since it cost 990$
2°/You’d need the BM card, as you would for color if you want monitoring
3°/Color is horrofully bugged. How many times did I have to spend one day after grading for rerender, with grades disapearing… I had to double check everything twice…
4°/There is no support at all, no developpment of the soft, stuck in vers 1 for too long know…(I have to say I was very exited at the begining of Color)

But in certain way, you’re right Kim, as we use to work with color for intern project and know we can have a dedicated grading room for long feature films…

Yes it runs in real time, that’s great. You don’t have to render for hours anymore…

I’d also like to see the project and autosave files..
