DaVinci big crash
Posted by Thibault Carterot on October 17, 2010 at 8:59 pmHello,
We ve got our first horrible situation here : After 10 hours of work, while saving, the progress bar got stuck at 80% for 10 minutes. We had to force quit. And it is now impossible to lauch the projet. It load until 99% and the it exit to finder…
The autosave was on but doesn’t seem to work either…
I managed to export the projet. It is now a tar archive still impossible to load to another mac.
Is there a way I could still get my project back ?Thanks
Thibault

October 17, 2010 at 10:29 pmI brought my Dongle home and have noticed a similar problem while quitting Resolve which ends up with me having for force terminate the app. This is on my 2.53Ghz 15″ Macbook Pro which is obviously unsupported hardware.
Maybe it would be good to post users current hardware config in this signature here, like the Apple Color forum.

October 17, 2010 at 11:40 pmHi Thibault,
Could you please contact Resolve support at davincihelp (at) blackmagic-design.com?
After you try to load the project and it crashes after 99%, please capture the logs using the /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/CaptureLogs.app.
Thanks,

October 17, 2010 at 11:53 pmDear Rohit,
Thanks for your answer,
I just sent a request from BM support. I found the log but It seems I can’t attach the tar log file to the request demand ?

October 18, 2010 at 2:05 pmThis has happened several times to me already.
One thing I found out is that the autosave function creates a new back-up project everytime it autosaves. It does not save your current one.

October 18, 2010 at 2:51 pmPerhaps a workaround is to save the project manually before quitting?

October 18, 2010 at 4:50 pmthat’s never happened to me before in color…think i’ll hold off a little longer on making the switch. besides i’ve just heard that an early pre build of the new fcp suite is hiding in a beasement and color is integrated even more closely…..
