October 18, 2010 at 5:21 pmWhere are the project files and auto backup files for Resolve stored on OS X system? Would like to target them for regular backup.
cheers,
j

October 18, 2010 at 10:28 pmGood for you.
Now for the issue of this topic: I had a similar crash once. (as if Color never crashes and makes things go nuts…) I discovered that I had an ” autosave” (or similar) project now. Resolve saved a copy of the project. Didn’t it do that for you ?

October 19, 2010 at 1:48 amJust to complete this thread, the issue here was that there were a few file names with unicode characters (a different language) and Resolve is currently able to read and write ASCII file names. The log file showed the point that Resolve could not read the file and after we identified the issue and had the file names updated the project is now loading OK. We will look into making this more robust in the future.

October 19, 2010 at 10:11 amYes my problem was solved by Davinci team and I must say they were very efficient. Thank you again.
The soft has some issue like edl handling or this autosave problem but I’d never go back to color !1°/ Color is not real time and has tones of bug
2°/ DaVinci team is working on getting the soft better, apple is working on the iphone… I heard new FCP won’t be release before 2013BM is a great company for users, updating the driver very often. I’m confident all the little problems will be solved very quickly.

October 19, 2010 at 10:16 amYes it runs in real time, that’s great. You don’t have to render for hours anymore…
I’d also like to see the project and autosave files..

October 19, 2010 at 11:33 am@Thibault, my reply was meant for Kim. For someone who was railing against the “which is better” argument he does seem to be quite anti Resolve…

October 19, 2010 at 12:47 pmsimon, i’n not really anti resolve….it’s just for my money and my needs i really can’t justify all that expense. with color i dont need any special graphics cards or a “proper controller” or anything else i dont already have. as for the render times, i simply do it overnight in most cases. 95% of my work is unattended and i always tell clients how long something will take. if they need it quicker or i cant fit them in i send them to the post house down the road where they have to pay 4 times as much for the same job. in this country money talks more than the inconvenience of having to wait for a render….i have never found the render thing to be a problem and in fact on my new mac it’s gotten considerably faster….

October 19, 2010 at 1:20 pmI don’t mean to be rude – but why do you keep picking on DaVinci, and lurking around in these forums if you’re not interested in the product?
Price is one thing. Having a better tool to get the job done.. well.. That’s priceless. For me, going back to Color would make me a slightly more depressed man.
