If you are talking classic Mojo, it can capture up to 1:1 SD.

It is best to have two startup drives on your system, one with FCP and the other with MC. This way you can update system software, QT, etc. to match your edit system. Avid is usually behind Apple on this for obvious reasons.

Step inside the key effect on V2. Now drop your blur on the video inside. This way it will only affect what is inside the key effect, and nothing below.

This isn’t easy to do unfortunately. Unless you use BCC, you will have to break apart your title so you can affect the matte independently.
That means step into your title, copy the two video track, then paste them on V2 (fill) and V3 (Matte). Add a matte key effect to V3.
Now you step inside the matte key, and wipe on your matte using either the paint tool or animatte.

Never tried this on the 1400, but with the Sony decks you have to have trilevel sync and standard sync both locked to the same source to guarantee proper cadence.
The 1400 is a weird beast as the 23.98 is actually recorded in a 60 frame tape. I have never done a 720P 23.98 online in Avid (We always bump to 1080) so I’m not even sure you can do the proper uprez when you are done.

Well, close but misleading. The file format is MXF and both SD and HD can be in this file format.
DNxHD is a newer compression formula to bring down HD file sizes efficiently.
The SD compression levels are the ones you are used to 1:1, 2:1, 20:1 etc.

If you are on the Symphony, you don’t get to use the open Gl effects. I know, it sucks, no RT effects in the top of the line product.
