Digitizing to Avid with HD-1400 deck
Hello,
I’m working on 4 hours of sleep and I hope I am making sense. We are using the Panasonic AJ HD1400 DVCPRO decks and Avid MC.
Our tapes are 23.98
Avid Project: 23.98 NTSC (offline)From what I digitized yesterday, I am getting cadence issues. We are starting the clips on 00 and I have the Avid set to see the A frame first. I need some advice on what deck settings do I need to adjust to accomplish a 2:3 pulldown into the Avid 23.98 NTSC project.
Please, please if you have any experience using this deck, your thoughts and advice are appreciated and most welcome!

Never tried this on the 1400, but with the Sony decks you have to have trilevel sync and standard sync both locked to the same source to guarantee proper cadence.
The 1400 is a weird beast as the 23.98 is actually recorded in a 60 frame tape. I have never done a 720P 23.98 online in Avid (We always bump to 1080) so I’m not even sure you can do the proper uprez when you are done.
