Good luck trying to find a 6800 at a reasonable price and with quartz extreme built in. The only Apple certified one I’ve seen is on compusa.com, but it is a store only product. I don’t even think they have any.
I’ve tried so hard to find one that would work with my Powermac G5, all I can find is 6600s and they’re pathetic compared to the 6800s.

It sounds like you should just use: MenuBar -> File -> Export -> Quicktime Movie…
This uses the same settings as the sequence or clip your exporting so it’s faster and at best quality. It can be a little over sized though.
I’m not fully sure what the orignal sequence is so I don’t kow if your trying to switch to a different compression or not.

A couple of Solutions:
1:
In the timeline at the top right there is at least two shelf icons. One is two lines with circles at the ends pointing at each other with a magnetic pulse. This is to toogle snapping. the one next to this should be a Square wiith two squares inside it. This is to have the Video and audio tracks connected. Maker sure this is select(has green glow to it).2:
Goto the Menubar -> Modify -> Link or command-L.Hope this Helps!!

I don’t think so. I personally run into this a lot and have to unlock every file. You could try logging in as root to see if this might work, but it might make the process even more complicated. The best way that I know how to do this is select all files the each folder and hold down option-command-I to open all files in the info window then deselect the check box for locking the files.

If you want to buy the component go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime
if you want to reinstall the component, it’s on the DVD Studio Pro Disk.

March 20, 2007 at 1:42 am in reply to: ? miniumum system requirements for HDV 60i AIC capture onlyIf it’s resolution is 720 and below then it might be possible, but I wouldn’t trust it. I have a dual 2 ghz G5 and it has trouble sometimes with HD capture especially over 720p. You might have better luck with interlace, but I’ve never used a powerbook to capture.

Apple has a special event at the NAB conference, I actually looked at the mapping of it and they have a huge area taking up three spaces. People have said it will be released at this time. Other rumors are the Mac Pro 8 core(99%), Mini laptop(78%), Mac OSX(89%).
I believe it will be released between April and June.

There is a way to offset playback, but I don’t know how to offset just audio.
Heres my solution: take your edited sequence and put it into a new one then all you have to do is offset one track and with out harming your editing one. I use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ keys to move the clip by frames, it’s easier and more precise than the mouse.

If your talking about playback you might not have a computer powerful enough so FCE brings down the quality. This has n effect on the final product, FC is set up to down grade playback if it can’t handle the data fast enough, this is so you can watch something with out a frame skip error popping up.
Also the capture window always looks pixellated and below frame rate.
Hope this helps.
