I would call tech support at https://www.ambrosiasw.com/support/
Just for some more information, I am an Apple Developer, and what normally happens for new quicktime files is to create an empty container(which is what your seeing) and then stream the contents either video codec, frames, or audio into the file. So it’s creating the quicktime file to stream the contents to, but for some reason it wont send the video.

I’ve tried this and unless you can some how alias the mp3 files in the iTunes Library, there is no way of doing it. The music, or alias of the file, needs to be in the iTunes Library, which can only be in one location.

I would love to have this too!
The problem is, software error codes are usually used so that only the programmer of the software knows the problem. This is to stop hackers and others from finding out how the application works(also as a short cut code to the location). They pop up the error code so that you can feed back it to the programmers and they can see if it’s a bug or help you troubleshoot.
The problem that I have with FCP is that it just says “general error” and nothing else to help you. I consider this to be a big problem and I think Apple should change it.

Well first I would use the Color Correction Filter to patch it up a bit, then like Tom said, use layers and compsite the Tracks.
If you have Color or Shake use them.
Hope this helps.

Well all I can say is try it in a different user account or a different machine. If this works then it sounds like you need to either reinstall the software or OS, or change user accounts for the project. Best of Luck!!

PowerMac G5s do come with a PCI express slot. I not sure about how many your Mac has, but mine which is from 2004 has one at the top and then 2 normal PCis underneath. The only thing that you need to know is where is your PCI express slot(it possibly could be all three), and find out the size of the card(Some cards can be to long or big to fit).

All footage has grain and noise its just that normally with 3 CCD chips, good resolution, and good lighting you don’t notice it. I think you can see noise because you scaled up the noise. I’ve also seen this happen on SD broadcasts that are shown on HD televsions. One big thing that might help is make sure your using a HD output(example: HDMI), any SD output can distort the image(Example: coaxial cable with f connectors).

Although the Ati looks good, from Apples bench tests the Nvidia has a higher performance, but costs a ton more. I’ve actually had problems with ATIs mainly because they didn’t have Quartz Extreme comatibility. Does the new ATI cards have Quartz Extreme? I can’t seem to find out anywhere.

Final Cut Server is coming this summer, its used to store and get clips from multiple computers including Windows PCs. This could also have the ability to render final Cut timelines on multiple computers.
