PCIe card?
i’m on the brink of buying and external sata drive from g-tech. the drive ships with a PCIe card and cables to connect to my computer.
i’m not certain if my computer has the correct card slots to support PCIe cards.i’m running on a dual 2.7 ghz powermac G5, os 10.4.9, 4gb ram.
can someone let me know if i can install this card on my computer? or should i get the g-raid2 with the firewire 800 connection (i’ve read that esata is much faster).

PowerMac G5s do come with a PCI express slot. I not sure about how many your Mac has, but mine which is from 2004 has one at the top and then 2 normal PCis underneath. The only thing that you need to know is where is your PCI express slot(it possibly could be all three), and find out the size of the card(Some cards can be to long or big to fit).

Be careful! The late 2004-early 2005 2.7 GHZ Mac does NOT have PCI-express slots!
Only the G5’s shipped after Nov 2005 have PCI-express.
