There are a few reasons, remember these are jsut ideas not fact:
1. Final Cut Pro can be bought by itself, the other Apps use to be.
2. Final Cut is reasonably good by itself while other programs like Motion or Livetype really can’t work to well by them selves. Most people would probably want FCP with Motion instead of just Motion.
3. Apple could be trying to compete with Avids bundle.
4. Apple might be doing this because they make more money with the bundle than by single apps.

For Text there are two easy fixes.
the first one is to go into the filter and change the amount of whiteness the filter is conserving or lowering.
The Second and best for rendering is to remove the broadcast safe filter from the text and actually change the color to a darker one. You just need to move the slider a little down so it still looks white but it is low enough that it wont past the 100% white mark.
Hope this Helps!!

Yeah, its sadly not bundled with any App, the Mpeg-2 plugin for quicktime though is bundled with DVD Studio Pro, but of course you have to buy FInal Cut Studio.
This is just a rumor, not a true fact, but I have read that apple is planning on having Quiktime completely free, no Pro version. Remember though this is just a rumor it’s not a fact yet.

May 8, 2007 at 2:31 am in reply to: Can I improve the wireless card on my PowerBook G4?Well If your friend is allowing you to use their network then you could get an Airport express and link it to your neighbors network, there is also an external antenna from QuickerTex that can trible the strength of a Powerbook G4, go to https://www.quickertek.com/PBConnect.php

May 8, 2007 at 2:24 am in reply to: Can I improve the wireless card on my PowerBook G4?Apple said that the iBook had the best reception on the old iBook page which doesn’t exist any more(it brings you to macbook). http://www.apple.com/ibook
Apple released an article about the PowerMacs that had built in Antennas and explained that the part that the Antenna is in is covered by plastic instead of metal to have better reception, they were using the Powerbooks as an example of the bad reception due to metal interference.
They switched to Aluminum in 2003, I forgot all about that, thanks for the edit, but Aluminum has the same problem. They only switched because it was lighter, not for airport.

May 7, 2007 at 2:08 pm in reply to: Can I improve the wireless card on my PowerBook G4?An iBook has the best airport reception. So good that Apple uses it as a guideline for all the other computers, it’s antenna wraps around the screen so its pretty big. A Powerbook has as Apples says the worst reception, mainly do that the antenna is hidden under titanium alloy that blocks the signal. Apple fixed this problem with the new MacBook Pros and Late PowerMacs by adding a plastic cover over the antenna insted of the titanium alloy thats used for the shell of the computer.

Ram doesn’t help the speed of the computer; it helps keep up the max speed of the computer. For instance, if you get to low on ram then the computer will start slowing down and sometimes freeze up for a bit. Adding ram is good to keep it going if you use RAM intensive applications, or a lot of applications at once. Apple has said that PowerMac G5s’ spped is relative to the amount of its RAM, but I’ve never noticed a difference.

Ow, the transparent screen of death. I’ve run into this mainly from 2 things, bad RAM or video card problem. For instance not concerning your problem, but Maya when running in Dual Monitor mode with two video cards will crash OS X like this.
Maybe there is a software problem anything that runs with raw opengl commands can cause this. Also if RAM is damaged or not put in properly(might even have popped out a little) could crash OS X.Just a few thoughts, hope you get it working!

May 4, 2007 at 3:45 am in reply to: Can I run disk utility from macbook to repair boot disk in g5 using target mode?Well the two Tiger OSes are basically the same and Apple still uses the same type of hard drives so it should work. I’ve actually tried doing this with my iBook G4 and PowerMac G5. For some reason Disk Utility couldn’t find my PowerMac so I had to search for my Apple Care disk and boot from that.
Good Luck!!
