The only way you can change the duration is to set your preferences and reimport the stills. From there you can drag the contents from the entire folder to your Canvas. Select Insert or Overwrite WITH Transition. Default Transition is Cross Disolve. That can be changed.

Make sure the Jumpback is a QuickTime MOV file. 720×480 DV-NTSC.
If its settings do not match your sequence settings, then you will have to render.

In your preferences, you can select minute intervals for automatic rendering.

You can also create buttons for your various render options instead of going to your menu.

I do not have iLife 6 so I can not guarantee this will work. Try this. You can save the iDVD 6 project file (the theme you want to use) anywhere you want on your harddrive and import that into DVDSP as a new project.

Depending on which version of iDVD you have, you can use that template in DVDSP.

He can store the video back to DV tape or External HD. External HD is the least expensive alternative. For future editing, keep the original tapes.
