    Make sure the Jumpback is a QuickTime MOV file. 720×480 DV-NTSC.
    If its settings do not match your sequence settings, then you will have to render.

    The JB is a mov file, and I did check the settings apple 0 and apple 9 and they match. but for whatever reason anything i drop on the time lines requires a render. i will re install FCP and try things again
