Chris;
The bulk of what my company does in 30 min infomercials.
In our case they are 28:30 Drop Frame with no “commercials”.
There are usual 3 CTA or “Call To Action” this is the real sell part of the show the rest is talking about it or demos, the 3 CTA’s are about 3 min in lenght, but it depends on how they are written.
I agree with Shawn full heartedly, don’t assume anything, ask the client.
They should have given you a script that may have the CTA’s written into it.
Ask about disclaimers.Typically there is one and the beginning and end of the infomercial that says something to the effect of “The following/precedding is/was a paid adevertisment for “The Product” brought to you by “The Company”.
Also there is 1 small disclaimer before each CTA that will say “The program you are wartching is a paid advertisment”.
Keep in mind that if you are doing any weight loss or health stuff, you will need “Actually results may vary, or something that says that the statements have not been evalutated by the FDA.
Definetly keep in mind any legal aspects and ask you client if you have any doubts.
Good luck.

Not a 100% sure, but I’m going to say the system can’t handle inputing and outputing that much information over the same bus.
I would suggest getting firewire 800 card for your system and have the drives on that and the camera on the internal firewire port.
Running it through a hub is not going to do anything, because the internal bus in the system can’t handle the information.

Are you looking for the entire page to turn/peel with a radius or do you want the page to turn as if it is bound at the left or right edge?
Either can be done with out any additional plugins.
The first is simple,
Build your page, Nest it and then apply the page turn to the entire nested sequence.
The second is a bit tougher and requires motion to do or a new free plugin from Peter Wiggins I believe. I can’t remember the name of it right now it is now my system at home, not at work.
Andt Mees says that he has a better 3D plugin at https://homepage.mac.com/andymees, but I have not tried it.

That’s what I’ve come to see as well.
I wound up taking the motion file into FCP and the just laid the audio from the interview directly into the timeline.
I had some problems with the audio when I made a QT move. It seemed to cut off the first couple of words of the interview.
It was fine in motion, but the QT was wrong.
Strange.

There is a check box on the top left side that says Scale Attributes or something similar.
If that is unchecked your 1 sec move will be 1 sec no matter how long the clip is.
If it is checked it will do just what is says and scale the time it takes to do the move appropiately with the length of the clip.
EX; a 1 sec move on a 10 sec clip will be 2 sec on a 20sec clip and so on.

Thanks David;
I will definately mention that to the producer. They are trying to do this on a budget.

Thanks to all.
Shane I am well aware of what you are saying and i totally agree.
That my be the biggest stumbling block we have to get over here.
Frankly our cameraguy suck.I will pass these suggestion along to the producer.
Anyother suggestion would still be appreciated.

Ok after doing a bit more “testing”, I came to realize that it will work correctly if I do an overwrite or insert edit, but if I do an insert or overwrite with transition, it takes the beginning of the clip as the inpoint.
Any ideas, is this normal?
I’ve tried 3 different systems and 2 different editors same results.
Thanks;

I create a self contatined QT from FCP and then drag that into DVDSP.
Deleted the menu, make the QT file the first play and then set the “End Jump” to go back to the beginning of the QT when done.It works with a reference movies as well, I just tried it.

Not sure what it was, but I closed the project I was working on.
Opened an old one and the peositioning worked as it should.
Then when I went back to the project I’m working on now it worked fine.
Thanks again, but I wish I knew what happened.
