Yes it is set to Image and Wireframe.

I would not be able to grab the center crosshairs if it wasn’t.

This one has me stumped also. All my settings are as they normally would be.

I’m, sure it’s a keystroke I inadvertently hit, because I can almost swear it started happening after I was doing a control something and hit the wrong keyt, but can’t remember what.

Thanks for the info, I was aware of that, and I do use the Canvas repositioning as a rough placement.

As to why this happening I can’t explain it either, but I wish I could correct it.

Hey I don’t like having to say stuff like that, but I’m sick of people putting their useless comments here.

Like wrong forum.
Read the manual or other stuff.

You could answer the peorsons question (assuming you know the answer) and then add “This information could be found on page xxx of the FCP manual.; or something like that.

By the way Chris’ suggestion of “Build to disc first. Then take your TS folders and burn them onto disc w/ Toast or any Disc burning software” worked just fine for the mean time. I would still like to fix the issue though.

I know this is a FCP forum and it should have gone in the DVDSP forum.

If you read my first post I said…

I have a G-Raid also and I’ve done this before with no problem.

I’m trying Compressor now, but have never done it that way, so I’m not sure of the process.

I did not update FCP to 5.1.4 yet because I want to stay equal to my office and they are still at 5.1.2.

[Steve C] “I just srated getting an error when creating a DVD in DVDSP.
I recently updated DVDSP to 4.1.2 and I believe this is the 1st DVD since doing so.

My process is the same as always.

Export QT from FCP
Drag into DVDSP, make First play and set to beginning of Track 1 Chapter 1 at the end jump.

Error is “Formating Failed. Building was not succesful see log.”

The log is…

Starting DVD Build CITYAMERICA…
Compiler File Error

Build cancelled
Formatting finished.
Building was not successful. See log.

The best way I have found is to find a sound effect from your sound effects libary, Soudtracks Pro or online that is close to what you want and then either speed it up, slow it down or and an audio filter to it to get the excat sound you are looking for.

I’ve used jet plane flyby’s, laster sound effects and many others.

You need to experiment a bit.

After doing a little more reading and testing I found out that FCP will treat the black background (being the area that does not have any video coving it) as an alpha channel if you export the clip as a Quicktime Conversion using “None” for Compression Type and “Millions +” as Compressor depth.

This will import back into FCP as a single movie clip with the black space being the transparent.

I had the exact problem with our AJA IO’s when we upgraded to 5.1.2 a while back.

Video and machine control, but no audio.

I called AJA and they suggested downgrading the fireware on the IO and that did the trick.

Maybe this is what you need to do John.

Fine you guys are correct. I only tried handbrake because someone last week recommended it in another post. The poster was having problems with MPEG Silpstream.

I tried it and it worked great.
