    I’m not sure if it applies to FEW drives, but make sure “Put the hard disk{s} to sleep whenever possible” is notchecked in the Energy saving section of system preferences.

    That’s the way Final Cut has it in the Capture Preset menu. I took the existing DV 48Khz Preset, copied it and under Quicktime Audio Settings the drop down menu has a choice of 48.000 kHz 16-bit 2-chan, 44.000 kHz 16-bit 2-chan, or 32.000 kHz 16-bit 2-chan.

    As far as the sync issue. It’s not the media, I think it’s something in the way I have my monitor set up.
    The project looks fine when I play it at work.

    At Home I have a Quad 2.5Ghz G-5 with 4.5Gb of memory, the Video is going out to my LCD monitor via a DVI to VGA connector and the audio is going from the MAC’s 1/8″ audio output on the front or back (I’ve tried both) to the audio input of the same LCD monitor.

    The synch is right on in QT, but it is off in FCP (ony about 2 frames), Like i said it is fine at work, so I doubt it’s the media.

    I think I may have to get a pair of Editorl MA-100 digital monitors and take the BlackMagic digital audio out.

    Thanks;

    I redigitzed some of the footage at 32kHz 16bit 2 ch and the synch is much worse than when I did it at 48kHz 16bit 2 ch. 32kHz was the only option in the capture preset settings that didn’t give me the “Audio Sample Rate” messagee after capturing the footage.

    Kristian;

    Thanks, that did it.

    I don’t understand, those were the same drivers I originally downloaded and installed.

    I never install drivers from the CD, becuase they are usually not current.

    Thanks

    Andy;

    I tried both of those and still nothing out of FCP.
    I have no idea why this is?

    Thanks for the assistance, if you have any other suggestions, I’ll be glad to try them.

    I guess I’ll have to try to contact BlackMagic Tomorrow.

    Thanks again;

    July 23, 2006 at 3:30 pm in reply to: Compnent Connections???

    The video playback is set to BlackMagic NTSC (RGB 720 x 486). and that’s what I have the monitor set to in the display settings.

    The Black Magic card acts like another monitor and shows up in the display settings.Like I said I can actually see the desktop on the Advent LCD monitor.

    Thanks

    I got the connections correct and I have the desktop on the monitor, but I can’t seem to get FCP to output to the monitor.

    I’ve tried numerous settings, with no luck.

    Any suggestion would would be appreciated greatly.
