February 9, 2007 at 2:22 am in reply to: Cropping/Trimming Capture Scratch Files For DVD BackupYou can edit you segment the way you have it now and when you are done run it through Media manager.
Copy the project and delete unused media.
This will give you an archive of just what you actually used and it will rewrite all the links to a new folder called whatever you want.
It’s a little more complicated then just that so read up on it in the manuals.
It’s ion Volume IV (4) Chapter 7 & 8 or IV-77 in the Help files in Final Cut.
Good luck.

I thought that I could reassign them, but I can’t seem to do that either.
How do you go about doing that?
Assigning them in the keyboard layout, not the button bar.
I’ve tried dragging them onto the buton I want them assigned to and dragging the button on to them and neither will do anything.

Well I looked at my ingestion Station and it was set to 2 channel.
It turns out that my logging software HD Logger had gotten changed to stereo in the export settings instead A1+A2.
Thanks again for all the advice.

I beleive that is going to be it. I have to get a chance to look in that particular station, but on my system that looks like it will work.
They are both 5.1.2 the difference is one uses an AJA IO and mine uses a Black macig Multibridge extreme.
Thanks for the help everyone and Andy don’t worry about being late, it happens to the best of us.
Thanks again.

Yeah that’s what I thought to, but that only show the type (Analog 4 Channel, SDI 8 Channel, and so on), but it doesn’t allow me to specify Stereo Pair, 2 Cannel Mono.
We didn’t used to have this problem. Everything came in channel panned left and right and then our timeline sent it out mixed.
I don’t know what happened?

Thanks;
Thaqt’s what I wound up doing, but I thought there may be another way to change the original clip.
I guess not.
Thanks again.

Again, this only effcts the clips in the timeline.
I haven;t started editing the piece yet and I want all my clips to be panned a certain way, so if I pull a clip rom the browser 2 or 3 times, the audio will be set the same every time.
The only way I can think to do this is to do what either Steve or Tom suggest and the take all the clips in the timeline and drag them ack into the browsr so they are now my master clips.
Any other suggestions, would be appriciated.

Unless I’m doing something wrong, you can’t paste attributes to the clips is the browser only to timeline clips.

Taking the green of an RGB output and plugging it into a composite input, then goto the System Preference Control Panel and set it to SDI & NTSC/PAL (Y Out) you get a normal image.
Just for anyone elses information.
