DVDSP Error
Posted by Steve Cohen on March 12, 2007 at 11:49 pmI just srated getting an error when creating a DVD in DVDSP.
I recently updated DVDSP to 4.1.2 and I believe this is the 1st DVD since doing so.My process is the same as always.
Export QT from FCP
Drag into DVDSP, make First play and set to beginning of Track 1 Chapter 1 at the end jump.Error is “Formating Failed. Building was not succesful see log.”
The log is…
Starting DVD Build CITYAMERICA…
Compiler File ErrorBuild cancelled
Formatting finished.
Building was not successful. See log.I know this should probably go in the DVDSP forum., but I seem to get quicker response in the FCP forum.
Thanks;

March 12, 2007 at 11:51 pm1 addition.
I did not update FCP to 5.1.4 yet because I want to stay equal to my office and they are still at 5.1.2.[Steve C] “I just srated getting an error when creating a DVD in DVDSP.

March 12, 2007 at 11:56 pmBuild to disc first. Then take your TS folders and burn them onto disc w/ Toast or any Disc burning software

March 13, 2007 at 12:06 amSteve, I was getting the same errors… with a 2 hour movie… I thought it was the length. I still do not understand where the problem was. It would always lock up on a frame and just keep going. I got everything to work by going thru Compressor first and then to DVDSP#4. But it would only complete the process if my source drive and target drive where 2 different drives. I have a Medea raid and you would think that would be fast enough to be the source and the target.

March 13, 2007 at 12:10 amI have a G-Raid also and I’ve done this before with no problem.
I’m trying Compressor now, but have never done it that way, so I’m not sure of the process.
Thanks

All I was doing was letting him know that he posted in the wrong place, besides the DVD SP forum looks like it gets plenty of use to me, I check there just as often as I do the FCP forum.

March 13, 2007 at 1:11 amI know this is a FCP forum and it should have gone in the DVDSP forum.
If you read my first post I said…
“I know this should probably go in the DVDSP forum., but I seem to get quicker response in the FCP forum.”
I have responded to many post that were in the wrong forum, because I could help the person.
It shouldn’t make a difference where it is posted. If you can help someone help them, if not don’t say anything.

March 13, 2007 at 12:08 pmHey I don’t like having to say stuff like that, but I’m sick of people putting their useless comments here.
Like wrong forum.
Read the manual or other stuff.You could answer the peorsons question (assuming you know the answer) and then add “This information could be found on page xxx of the FCP manual.; or something like that.
By the way Chris’ suggestion of “Build to disc first. Then take your TS folders and burn them onto disc w/ Toast or any Disc burning software” worked just fine for the mean time. I would still like to fix the issue though.
Thanks again;
