Haven’t installed it yet. I have noticed render and other funkyness when moving projects from a power pc to an intel. I want to install it but I remember some snafus in the past with installing brand new updates. Should I wait a bit?

Look two posts down…and keep going. There’s been a ton of chatter about it.

Then make up your own mind.

Yes, I have read these posts and others like them on other forums.

Anyone else experience anything different with this 5.1.3 update?

Do you have any third party plugins?

    Walter,
Which of your third party plugins are problematic?

None, I’m still running 5.1.2 on all machines. But I’ve seen reports of Boris filters and the Magic Bullet Colorista not working in 5.1.3. We’re not updating anything at this time.

I think all FxPlugs with a custom GUIs are messed up. The plugs work, but the GUI is gone. In the case of Colorista, this means no color wheels. Other plug-ins that seem to be affected are Automatic Duck, Noise Industries (FxFactory) and Conduit (in Motion). Boris appears to also be affected in some way, but they’ve had issues with FCP since 5.1.2. Check each website for specifics. In some cases, you can succussfully reinstall 5.1.2, but there is no guarantee and it doesn’t work for everyone.

Unfortunately BEENICE’s problem is specifically what 5.1.3 is supposed to address, so that might be a case where the update actually improves the situation.

    Sincerely,
    Oliver

We installed 5.1.3 on our G5 w/ a KONA2 card, and now we can’t capture audio from our DVCPro deck. Same thing with our intel laptop. No audio, only video. Anyone else have similiar problem? In our edit 2 suite, we installed the update and security update, and have had no capture problems whatsoever.

Here’s a 5.1.3 bug that appears after a while and requires restarting the application to correct. You try to edit the names of items in the browser and bins and while you can select the field, no typing is possible. The keys don’t switch to typing mode, but stay in the short cut mode. I’m rolling back.
