Did you ever get an answer to this? I have been using a Sony a7sII in S-log 2 with Vegas 14
I have been experimenting with LUT utilities and have had some reasonable results but don’t like the way Vegas handles this. Not as well as FCPX – and there is less support
My interpretation was that the output settings were for when you want to output a flat S-log video file to work on it in another program , like Da-Vinci Resolve.

That’s great to see. I am a Vegas user with a DJI Phantom and GoPro 3 and I am getting good results without the gimbal. I realise that these pictures could be further improved using one but I don’t have the skills to wire one up.
Sometimes, however the tilting of the non-gimbal mount can produce some great results as seen here:

Another thing to consider is that if you are Using Sony’s DVD Architect to create the DVDs you can just drag and drop your MP4 file straight into the DVDA program and it will create the DVD no bother

For short animations going from AE into Vegas I tend to use the ‘Animation’ codec and for more video based content QT I aslo use Avid DNXHD.
Also for stand alone AE projects the QT .h264 codec will work fine for YouTube/ Vimeo quality output. Yes it compresses the content but It’s going to get compressed by YouTube anyway.

Another thing to consider it that the monitor is the same resolution as the screen on your lap-top.
Otherwise if you are using it as a duel monitor set up the monitor will default to the resolution of the lower resolution screen.
Most good external monitors are at least 1080 but many laptop screens are still sold with 720 screens

This is an easy one, Chris, but only if you know what you are looking for.
It sees that you may have selected the Auto-ripple button. It is at the top of the screen a few along from the Undo / redo buttons (which you may be more familiar with!) Just hit ctrl and ‘L’ and that switches it off.

I am sure others may have different ideas but here are my two render settings for youtube. the large one is best quality Youtube will accept. the second is the one I feel offers the best possible quality compared to size of footage.

One other thing you might try is opening the most recent ‘Autosave’ file which, as default is in the following directory :
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0

I researched this thoroughly about 12 months ago and the best value for performance ratio was a Dell Precision M6600.
Nearly the most powerful laptop with large full HD screen, long battery life and lots of RAM.
Only problems I’ve had are with CUDA rendering but I think that’s more an issue with Vegas than this machine.
It runs is Intel Core i7-2720QM CPU @2.20GHz with 16gb Ram
I also ran Avid MC6 on this machine using dual screen on the office and it ran like a charm.

Agree with Tyson. Temporarily rename the folder containing your footage, or if your footage is on an external HDD, disconnect it. Then open the project off line and delete the problem file, change the name back / reconnect and give it a try
Another thing to try is to bring the project in as a ‘nested veg’ ie open a new project and drag and drop the problem .veg file into the timeline. You might then be able to render that out to salvage something.
Also as a last resort try duplicating the project and downloading the trial version of SVP12 and see if it opens on that. Unlike FCP you don’t have to uninstall svp11 to install svp12
