I want high quality renders for youtube
Hi I have sony vegas movie studio 11 and I make videos to upload to youtube but the quality is much poorer than the original footage and much poorer than what I see other peoples videos are.
I made a video with 18mp dslr pictures and it looks alright but still when viewing it in the small 360p window in 360p on youtube it doens’t look real crisp but if I set it to 720p and watch it in the small 360p window it looks great but again if I but it to 1080p and watch it in full screen no it doesn’t look crisp.
I have seen some other peoples videos that is the same as mine with that you need to watch them in a smaller window then the choosen resolution too look good but a lot more of videos which looks a lot crisper than mine does watching in the same size window as the resolution ie 360p in the small standard window and also great at 1080p in full screen.I want that too but I don’t know why I don’t acheive it, I just finished a video with .mov source footage from a canon s100 compact in 1080p and it looked a lot worse allready on my computer after render than the original footage did and a bit more worse after upload to youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WKQYggh0pk&feature=c4-overview&list=UUOam5ZR2yFKdlhUzmzvzwTQMy settings have been to match the source footage in the project settings and then again in the render settings and I have choosen sony avc/mvc and internet 1920×1080 24p and choosen video rendering quality best and profile high and it has mostly been at 16 0000 000 bitrate but I tried 24 000 000 which was a slight improvement but not much.
Please help me

I dont see where you are doing anything wrong, from your renders look
great after rendering in the correct video format, you are doing what
needs to be done… Those inconsistencies must be coming from youtube.Steve Rhoden

Okey, did you notice that only the last two videos where mine, the others where examples of other peoples videos which I think have much better quality.

I am sure others may have different ideas but here are my two render settings for youtube. the large one is best quality Youtube will accept. the second is the one I feel offers the best possible quality compared to size of footage.

The one thing that I noticed was that your pans were a LOT faster than the other videos. That creates more movement which requires more bits to represent which results in lower quality video at the same bit rate.
Your video was also over saturated and color saturation stresses the encoder so that will produce lower quality videos as well.
Toward the middle of your first video where the pans were slower and the colors were not as intense, I thought it looked just as good as the other videos.

When I render my video in HD 1080p (wmv) ,some layers with PNG format appears with less quality than the rest.
The resolution of the file is high, with excelent quality. What should I do ?

Try using MP4 instead of WMV and see if you get better quality.

I see what you are saying but some of the wors parts I think are the waves in the beginning of the video where the camera is pretty much still, they look terrible. And the forest in fall video I made with pictures, thoose pictures are also more or less oversaturated but I did that with the pictures before importing them to vegas and they looked very crisp yet in the video they look somewhat grainy compared to other videos playing in the same size and resolution.
I don’t understand what is wrong, is vegas movie studio not capable of producing better quality do I need vegas pro or another software for that?

I’m sorry. I watched the last video you posted at full screen 1080p on my 15″ MacBook Pro and it looks spectacular. I don’t know what you don’t like about it. Maybe it’s because I’m not seeing the original to compare it to but your videos look fine to me. Sorry I can’t help more.
