    Hello,

I use Sony Vegas 11 and I created my footage and wanted to add another video to my project. After 100 crashes I finally somehow succeeded to import. I saved my project and now everytime I click play it crashes. I can’t delete that video because it keeps crashing when I try! Does someone know the fix to this?? The project is really important to me.

    Thanks in advance,
    Marjan

    Sounds like:
    a. .veg was fine
    b. added a video file
    c. now it crashes

If you know what the video clip is, rename it. Start Vegas, open your project. When Vegas ask about the “media not found”, leave it offline and see if the project opens.

Agree with Tyson. Temporarily rename the folder containing your footage, or if your footage is on an external HDD, disconnect it. Then open the project off line and delete the problem file, change the name back / reconnect and give it a try

Another thing to try is to bring the project in as a ‘nested veg’ ie open a new project and drag and drop the problem .veg file into the timeline. You might then be able to render that out to salvage something.

Also as a last resort try duplicating the project and downloading the trial version of SVP12 and see if it opens on that. Unlike FCP you don’t have to uninstall svp11 to install svp12
