For HD MPEG2 I’m not sure compressor isn’t enough. Also it seems that the BrightSign HD210 has a maximum 25mbit playback so be sure to account for audio if you have it. But HD transport streams at high bitrates should look great out of compressor.
At low SD bitrates (like 3mbps or less) you get a better encode with BitVice, but for HD videos especially coming from a codec like ProRes they should look great.

40 gigs is pretty big….depends on your upload speed and the client’s download speed. It’s gonna take hours. Honestly a $15 FedEx standard overnight is probably your best bet…Dual layer Bluray disc?

About four of our clients pay on net 60 even though our terms our net 30. They are agency clients and that’s how it works. On some larger productions we get a set amount up front, usually enough to cover our outside costs for the shoot. But it is common for an agency to tell us that their terms are paying on net 60 and you either comply or walk from the job. Since we are not fools, and since we know they pay, albeit on their terms, we play along.
It’s not like we only have one job in the cue at a time so most of the time it does not affect cash flow.
Don’t know about the company you are asking about but I’m saying that net 60 is not unusual…for a first time client I might ask for something up front to cover some of your time and cost.

Wow…haven’t heard of Heuris in quite a few years. I’m surprised two things….first that you can still buy Heuris and second that somehow you thought that it was a good buy. If you had searched the COW for Heuris I doubt you would have found much, making you wonder about its viability.
I agree, if it was credit card, try to get a refund.

Try the Recompress all Frames checkbox and see if that clears it up.

Repair permissions on your computer. In Apple System Preferences see if you have some Firewall settings that block incoming connections.

Sony DVD Recorder….it has a 3-hour and even up to 6 hour record to a regular DVD. 3 hour encode actually looks pretty good and you don’t have to tie up an edit bay.
Send the S-video signal from the VHS to the recorder and let ‘er rip.

I think the issue is that Flip 4 Mac in QT player allows you to set in and out points, but then you have to copy that section and paste it into a new player window. It will paste only what you marked in the source clip.
Then export. MPEG Streamclip on the other hand obeys your in and out points and exports what you marked within the same clip.
Always hated that in QT player.
