Mine works the same… or I have not noticed. You could try holding down the 9 key when clicking on stuff though.

Not sure why you are having issues adding them though.

If you want an easy but very boring way is to just keyframe the text between 1 and 0. You could set up loops in the timeline… and so on. (To key frame the text just control click the small circle next to the word TEXT where you write in)If you would like a less manual way of this you could set up an expression.
First you will need a free plug in from C4D Jack called Oscillator. You can find it here:
https://www.c4d-jack.de/site/en/downloads/cat_view/43-plugins.htmlAfter you install it you can get started. In order to have more than one object in a Extrude nurbs be sure to enable Hiararical option.
Here is the Xpresso.https://skitch.com/randy-johnson/rpefh/xpresso-editor/Randy

If you press Shift-V you can get the display options and in the HUD (heads Up display) tab you can enable “frame time” this will not render as is so you need to enable Render HUD in the render settings options.
You can also use a text object in an extrude nurbs / Motext object and link it using a little xpresso.
Get a TIME node: from the red corner choose “Frame”
then drag in your text spline or mo text object and in the blue corner scroll down to “object properties” and select “text”. Then just drag a noodle between the two and press play. if you see yellow in the xpresso you messed up.
With this method you will need to make the Text object a child of the camera so you always see it./Randy

You can use the Sample Node in xpresso. Just connect the Sound effectors object option into the Effector input on the sample node then Strength into what ever you wanna control.
Sample node can be found in the motion graphics group of nodes.

On the timeline there should be a little film stripe next to the object name and solo options…. this will start and stop the animation for that object.

Integration with AE is as good as it gets but I still use shake since its what I am used too and the integration is pretty much the same as maya-shake is. Cinema can import and Export FBX animation and several model formats that maya works well with. I share a lot of files with different companies using maya, 3dmax with out any big issues. So I think your pipeline will work just fine if you choose cinema.

Could you not make the logo with the shapes using mograph? Then make it fall apart with dynamics.
If you use a fracture object you could have kept some pieces together for the entire duration and have other fall off. Also as a side note you looked to have some phong issues on your hexagons as they bounced.

You are looking for the Display tag.

my guess is mograph controlled the cards flying out and then they did the white background using masks in AE.
