Hi everyone. I am looking for some help achieving an effect in Cinema 4D that I’ve not been able to find a solution to quite yet. Here is a project I just recently finished with which I settled due to time constraints, but I would like to refine it to make it look like I want it to.

As you can see, the idea is that our logo starts to fall apart, but not into random shapes, into hexagons. I faked the last couple shots by cutting our some chucks of the logo with booleans and odd shapes and making the particles fall around that, but I would actually like to specifically show portions of the logo falling apart. I was thinking maybe I could slice the logo into the hexagonal shapes I want using the knife tool, but then I wasn’t sure how to make that react and fall with dynamics since it would be an editable object. If anyone has any ideas or can point me towards any other tutorials that would help tremendously. Thanks so much.

Could you not make the logo with the shapes using mograph? Then make it fall apart with dynamics.
If you use a fracture object you could have kept some pieces together for the entire duration and have other fall off.

Also as a side note you looked to have some phong issues on your hexagons as they bounced.
