So many ways to do this:

Nest the current sequence itself, drag it to the source monitor, drag the audio only into the sequence you originally nested from, add compression effect.

Output your audio only and make a new sequence from the new clip, add effect, bring this sequence into your original.

Set your compression effect on one clip. Save settings as a preset or just highlight and copy the effect in the effects panel. Select all the other clips and apply the same effect to all of them by dragging the preset on one of them or just hit ctrl v and paste the effect into all the highlighted clips.

No you can’t make subclips from a sequence. This is where you need Prelude. Mark your subclips, title and add metadata, put them all in a bin and send that bin to PPro.

Have you tried highlighting the sequence in the bin, right click, modify, audio channels and changing the number of tracks?

You can select all the clips and nest them. Mark the ins and outs you want from it in icon view inside the Project Bin. If you want to use the Source Monitor you have to drag the clip/sequence into it. Can’t create actual subclips from a nested sequence.

Or you can treat that nested sequence as a clip of your selects and drag and drop it or do anything else to it just like you would a single clip.

Try building the matte, add tracking info, then nest this. Then add the blur and track matte key to the fill clip.

I found that the track matte key seems to ignore/corrupt position keyframes on title tool elements by the track matte key. See if adding the track matte key absolutely last clears things up. It did for me, but only if I had nested the matte clip itself.

Does the same thing happen if you use a mask created in Photoshop? What if you just crop a white layer down to the size you need and track and blur that? Just wondering if it’s something to do with the shape coming from the title tool.

Try nesting one of the animated mattes and using that nested clip as the target of the track matte effect. Sometimes nesting a clip can “lock-in/commit” the effects applied to it.

I saw something like that last night on the same kind of iMac. It was in a nested sequence and not the original timeline. Played the original to be sure and when I went back to the nest the problem was gone. Some kinda bug out there.

yeah, duplicate the clip and mask off some nearby green and position it over the hole. Then nest those two clips and composite using the nested clip.
