  • Drag all clips from timeline to a bin?

Posted by Dan Powers on June 6, 2014 at 8:16 pm

It looks like it will allow it, but they never show up.
I created a timeline of selects, since it is faster to hit the over right button than it is to drag a trimmed clip into a bin. No way to make subclips from a large group on a timeline?

You can select all the clips and nest them. Mark the ins and outs you want from it in icon view inside the Project Bin. If you want to use the Source Monitor you have to drag the clip/sequence into it. Can’t create actual subclips from a nested sequence.

Or you can treat that nested sequence as a clip of your selects and drag and drop it or do anything else to it just like you would a single clip.

Looking to take clips on the timeline and have them all be put in a bin. So NEST the whole timeline, and then drag the nest and it will create a bunch of individual sub clips? I can edit from the sequence as a source, but cant seem to make a sequence into a bunch of subs.

    HI Dan,
Which version of Premiere Pro are you using?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

No you can’t make subclips from a sequence. This is where you need Prelude. Mark your subclips, title and add metadata, put them all in a bin and send that bin to PPro.
