Sequences require at least one audio track so no way to do that. What you want to do is highlight all your clips in the project bin, right click, modify, audio and set the number of tracks to 0. Then only the video will import, but you’re able to go back to that clip and reactivate the audio tracks if necessary. Doing this won’t change the clips already in a sequence, but any use of that clip going forward will have audio.

You can edit with the subclips on a timeline that matches them. Replace the clips then change the settings of the sequence.

Or better yet, make the subclips offline then re-link to the new clips. The size will change but the name will stay the same.

I’ll even open the mc clip in its own timeline and add different looks to each track if we’re deciding on color at that time as well.

If you take the time to subclip the takes in Prelude (or in PPro for that matter) you can make a multicam clip of all the takes and use that. I use sync by in point (it’s for roughing it in after all) and “switch audio”. Then I add the clip and just toggle through the numbers to see how they’re working out. Decide on one and flatten. Or not.

Just use Prelude. Open the AVCHD file and see all the clips displayed for use.

And you can open the main AVCHD file in Prelude, pick the takes you want and transfer them (no transcoding) to another location for different students/projects. Prelude will rebuild the AVCHD file structure with just those selects. Very convenient for organizing different shoots from the same hard drive/camera in this format.

Right click on the clip in the project bin, modify, audio, set to 1 track/stereo. You’ll have to replace the clips in the timeline then as these changes only affect the clip going forward–not the ones that are already in the timeline.

You’ll be pulling your hair out trying to match the blacks from a 7D to most any other camera. Resign yourself to getting “good enough” on some shots.

Load one of the clips into After Effects and see if the audio shows up in there. If it does you can export the audio and re-link it in PPro.

See if you can load the original files into Media Encoder and export the audio there.

Tons of things to try.
