Quickest way I can think of is to use Prelude to subclip them. You can set the duration of the subclip marker to be 1:00 and apply it with a single keystroke. Basically, double click the clip to load it, hit 1, double click the next clip, hit 1, and on and on. Then you can have the bin only display subclips, highlight them and send to PPro. The subclip name will be the original name plus _1.

Here’s a real world anecdote from a bigger perspective.

We recently sold a software product (release automation/continuous integration) into a BIG european financial outfit. They are really big on open source for their developers and that’s cool ’cause we design our stuff to work with all that. Price tag was 400,000 euros. They were willing to pay this because our stuff does things that can’t be found in open source. But they had no problem in saying in 3 years they will not renew if the same functionality CAN be found in open source. So our task is to innovate even more so that we stay ahead of what they can get for free and earn another 400,000 from them (hopefully even more).

So there’s another example of the customer forcing the innovation. Yes, $50 a month is more than most one time price points, but to keep getting that $50 a month Adobe has to keep getting better. And changing the way they develop everything is what’s letting them do that.

Yeah, but nobody knew what it was going to be until they showed. (Excluding the NDA testers) Pretty good information managing there.

They’re the number one Global Brand. They’re notoriously media and message savvy. It’s pretty dang unlikely that that wording was changed on a whim or for lack of space.

I own a macbook air, macbook pro, imac, 3 ipads, 2 iphones, FCPX, Motion, and Compressor. So, I’m sold on what they’re selling. But to think that this corporate statement wasn’t painstakingly and meticulously crafted is silly. It’s not there for some reason. What that is I don’t have any idea. Well worth the discussion.

Are you doing just a stationary matte?

What I mean is are you wanting to animate points of the mask or just have the mask as a whole move?

  • Ah, I see. Wondering if I’ve ever encountered this. Probably. Bet I just did that Trim to 0 thing. Thanks, Herb.

You can select multiple files and make the changes for all at one time. Will not affect clips that are already in the timeline. Sort of a built-in non-destructive feature.
