  • is there a better way to delete empty audio clips?

My audio files (wav) – shot externally from camera – have 6 “dead” tracks above the two recorded ones. So, after syncing (merging) with my video tracks, when I pull a clip into the sequence, I have to delete the first six tracks, then move the two good ones where I want them.

I know I could lock the first 6 audio tracks in my sequence, but then I still have to move the tracks.

Is there an easy way to deal with this in PP, or should I talk to my sound recordist about how his equipment is set up?

Try highlighting one of the .wav’s in the project bin, right click, modify audio and change it to 2 tracks.

You can select multiple files and make the changes for all at one time. Will not affect clips that are already in the timeline. Sort of a built-in non-destructive feature.

In Modify Clip, I’ve set the audio tracks to 2, and selected channel 9 & 10 (where the good audio is), but when inserting a clip into the timeline, the scratch audio on Channel 1&2 appears.

    Any thoughts?
