Playback resolution not full quality
When I play a clip in real-time and the video quality is set to “full”, the image is still at reduced resolution. This is the image playing out from the Decklink card to both HDMI and SDI-connected monitors. This difference is clearly visible between play and pause.
There is a yellow bar over the timeline. Source media is 1080p/23.98 ProRes, XF and H264 in a 1080p/23.98 timeline. Various projects and the issue is evident even on clips without added effects or size manipulation. FWIW, rendering doesn’t necessarily make it look better.
All software is current, including OS, Decklink drivers and CC version. It’s tempting to point to the Decklink card, but there are no issues with this card in FCP 7, X, Resolve or Media Composer all on the same machine.
Should real-time playback be truly full quality?
