Set it how you want, click the wrench, save the track preset. You can then assign that preset to a hotkey or they’ll also be listed there when you click the wrench.

Sorry to hear you had such a crazy time with all that. I just finished a 90 minute multicam of a product demo/launch that was shot with 2 XA10’s and didn’t have any problems. The shots were simple though-one medium-wide following the presenter and one close-up of the product table as things were pointed out and demoed. One thing I did do for color though was I exported about 3 seconds of each roll and colored and matched them in Speedgrade. That way each clip had just on Lumetri effect on it. I did have to blow up the product/demo footage as it was just too loose at times. I ended up outputting it in 3 segments, but I cut it all on one timeline.

You don’t use Prelude do you? Subclipping in Prelude is so easy plus you can meta-tag. Not to mention markers, comments, etc. And you get nice big waveforms which really helps you get around clips with multiple takes.
The sort the bin by subclip, highlight them all and click and send to PPro. Only what you need in your Project and organized and searchable.

We need the ability to make multiple marks on a single clip during ingest in Prelude and a “Send To After Effects” (with metadata in tow) function as well. That would clear all this up.

Josh wins! I’ve never had a need to export a batch of clips like this from inside PPro, but to know you can do it from the Project Bin is awesome. Old dog, new trick. Off to play fetch.

It used to be that even having the scopes open during playback could yield some glitchy response from playback on the timeline. Had to hide them before hitting play.

There actually is a “not too crazy” way to mark all your scenes from within Prelude but you have to be working outside of the camera card format. Say you come across a clip that has two good takes on it, mark the first one then right click and reveal in finder, then option drag that clip to make a copy and it will show right up in Prelude next to the original, mark the second take and move on.
I’ve found that if you duplicate a clip from inside the camera card structure (MXF anyway) the original and the duplicate both disappear from Prelude’s view.

Making multiple subclips from inside Prelude is easy, just like in PPro but with a better interface. You just can’t put multiple marks on clip from the Ingest function. You have to ingest the part of the clip you want then make multiple subclips from it.

Definitely a Prelude gig. What’s the original source? I’d do about 50 clips at a time to keep it all straight.

Just drag the sequence from the project bin to a new timeline. It’ll be treated just like its own clip.
