You ‘believe’ it was shot on xdcam?
Dvcpro HD IS an appropriate format.
Obviously it hasnt been shot in xdcam
Log and transfer cant create dvcpro hd when the source isnt.

Check your cameraman.

iScsi protocol on ethernet works very good with editing, but most NAS systems don’t work good indeed.

RAID 6 is great, because 2 drives can die, but any RAID can burn down from fire or fall of a table.

You need Backup/archive on 2 physical locations.

2.Edit with ProRes files
3.Export Quicktime Movie with current settings
4.Create SD DVD in Compressor ( using frame controls )

Search this forum.. Your 60D workflow is exact the same as 5D or 7D
Same files, same workflow.

Maybee you changed the PNG while when your FCP project was open?

When you see the clip but the thumbnail is RED/OFFLINE,
Just trash your thumbnail cache files.

Have you installed the extra codecs/settings?

When you install AJA drivers a lot of formats are deselected by default.
If not, you can always edit a 10 Bit uncompressed preset in Audio/Video settings.

When the control panel is greyed out on a Mac you have 2 options and i’m sure it’s the same on your system.

A.Your card isn’t installed properly. There’s no contact between card and motherboard.
B. the card is broken. Call Blackmagic.

So try to reseat it in another slot, if that doesn’t help call Blackmagic support.
Firmware update is a hardware upgrade so it is possible that something went wrong and killed the card.

Ok, i found a simple trick that works for me :

– hook up the camera (power switch set to “off”) to the computer with firewire
set camera power switch to “camera” position
launch FCPHD
now move camera power switch quickly from “camera” position to “VTR” position (without stopping in the middle “off” position
open capture window (apple-8)

now you should be able to capture 50i and 25p…

I did it with an HDV50i “easy setup” project for both interlaced and progressive.
I believe it’s the correct setup, even for progressive scan, since the V1 in this mode still records two fields for each frame (but unlike interlaced, these two fields are identical)

The progressive scan footages came up beautifully on the 50i timeline, no aliasing or jagged lines…

Just open an Final Cut Autosave version from your project right from before you sended to Color.
But Color always creates a new Sequence ( from Color ) when sending back to FCP
