I cant see alot of people spending $6000 on a camera just to turn around and pay $4000 to be able to shoot 16 minutes of HD with it. These will have to come down in price or they will not sell any, and if they are serious about pushing the tech, they would use this camera as a vehicle for that market penetration, I think this is what we will see….just a thought.

  • You started by saying that FCP is the most unintuative interface you have used. Then you go on to explain what you dont like about it, and really didnt state ONE thing that had to do with intuativeness. FCP in actuality is very intuative, just ask anyone who knows nothing about editing what is the easier program to get on and actually start doing what you want, I think FCP wins that hands down. Avid is a great and powerful interface for cutting, but it is old, and IMHO showing its age, DS however has a nicer much more updatged feel to the interface…again IMHO.

Having said all this, it comes down again as has been said to death on both this and the FCP boards, to user preference, either way, you can get the job done. I wonder what the “real” point of your post was, are you just trying to fling poop?

Oh, I hope they dont do that, I really like that FCP is composite friendly without having to go to some other “mode”, this is my biggest gripe with the Avid interface (not DS). Please do NOT create different modes in FCP.

do you have the HD-SDI card for your monitor, I have that same monitor and am looking into buying the card. Also out of curiosity, do you find the Sony monitor rather dark….mine always seems darker than it should be.

I tend to agree, the P2 cards seem like a dead end unless there is some huge leap in the next 6-12 months….

Sounds like running a Windows version of Avid Express on your Mac inside of Virtual PC.
