Cool, an intellegent response…thk you for not saying I should just not buy Apple products.

This I couldnt agree with you more on, I find it interesting, and understandable I suppose that everyone here would never dare think this, because who wants to believe that youve spent thousands from a company that doesnt care about its pro market…but the fact is that the iPod and products like this are the focus and future of Apple. I say all of this, like I said before because I love using FCP and the lot, and Im concerned…thks.

Um Tim, you should read all of my posts, I make good money using my system as is….and I dont plan on changing because Macs are slower than their PC counterparts…funny that I also predicted this would be the response from a bunch of people that no matter what would NEVER put down Apple….your smart ass comments really are pointless…but its a free country, so be my guest…..everyone likes to think that what they have invested in is the best that money can buy…you sound like an Avid zealot when an FCP user says anything about Avid as a company or its practices…..but the reality is that companies make mistakes and screw customers on a regular basis, this is not to say that I feel that way about Apple, but I would never marry myself to a tool, I use whatever Im hired to use for the job, my preference is FCP due to the interface just feeling more intuitive, but give me an Avid and I will use it….
and no Im not a Cubs fan, in fact I find baseball boring as hell, go to a hockey game, now thats a real sport, or at least it is when they play it….

Riiigghhhhhttttt…..i have invested in Apple products thousands and thousands of dollars….Im not planning on leaving anytime soon….the point is that when do the Mac zealots hold the company they use and love responsible for making statments that they dont deliver on???? For me to just dump all of my Apple-centric gear is not an easy option, so for me to say state that I dont like it and bitch a bit is not so unreasonable….what does seem un reasonable are all the people that always have and probably always will support Apple and everything they do, even if they lose the Pro market share because they have decided to be a home media and entertainment company…..I am concerned because I DO love Apple products so much, and I would hate to switch… just some thoughts…..

Hopefully Panasonic will include this, I hope they dont get greedy and people to buysome sort of P2 playback unit….that would be shooting themselves in the foot I think, it makes it that much harder to deal with in the field….and thus would slow down the flow of this product into the market…..think of how many people would probably buy this camera if it had firewire as opposed to all the people that would have second thoughts if they couldnt stream the footage to a firewire drive on location therefor not being able to get long shoots done with out buying 500 cards and swapping them while you shoot, not going to happen…we can only hope……

I worry that just like the Beta, quility will not win out in this war for the “lower” end HD market…..it will be the marketing, just like it always has been,and that would really suck…..If they have any chance of stealing the HDV market, if this is what they are trying to do, then this camera better rock, so that there is no doubt that you would be crazy to spend the same money on the Z1…MPEG2 was never meant to be an aquisition codec….andit is turning into this big marketing campaign to sell everyone onto HD…..it will be an interesting couple of years….I really hope Panasonic blows people away with this camera at the price point…..
