(I tried to edit the previous post, but it did not stick, for some reason…)

I selected all items in the sequnece, created a new one and pasted all items into that one. Re-rendered (not needed) and now the export to self-contained QT worked just fine.

    Thanks for all your help!

Thanks for the tip. Trashed the FCP prefs using the app, opened the project. Still small file when exporting QT movie as self-contained.

Not sure how or what do to. I really really want to bunk the sequences as self-contained movies to tape, to make sure nothing goes wron (even if ref movies has worked fine in 99% of the time.)

    Ooops, “Full” was NOT checked.

Did that, re-rendered the sequence (20 min or so).

Still gets out as a non self-contained movie. The other sequence (that did export correctly) did have Sequence -> Render only -> Full checked.

    Strange…

I forgot to mention (but you already know) that I have the IoHD.
And I shoot SD with both 16:9 (HPX500) and the Beta (4:3).

When I drop the Beta clips they are pillarboxed automatically, so I’ll just zoom them. But 136 % is quite a lot with SD…

    Ah, well… 🙂

The final output will actually be on the web.

The reason the IoHD was set to ProRes422 was that I captured 50 Betacam SP tapes for output to DVD. (Had plenty of disk :-))

OK, I go for DV50 as capture format from the IoHD.

    Thanks!

    Io driver 6.0.1, firmware Sept 15, 08.
    OS: 10.5.5, QT: 7.5

I have run both firmware updater and the latest driver. No new firmware seems to be avaiable.

Not using DVI protocol, but HDMI. In Io ControlPanel HDMI audio is set to 8 channels. Changed that to 2 channel. Now the sound is perfect. Thank you.

    No clues, guys?

  • Wow, much simpler than I thought! Thanks, I’ll give that a try.

    OK Tom, here we go:

Computer: Mac Pro 2,8GHz 8-core, 6 GB RAM
    OS: 10.5.5
    QuickTime: 7.5.5
    FCP: 6.0.4
Capture device: IoHD over FW800 at rear of the Mac Pro.
    IoHD firmware: September 15, 2008
    IoHD drivers: 6.0.1
Tape deck: Sony DSR45P over FW400 at rear of the Mac Pro.
Capture scratch disk: WD MyBook Studio edition over FW800 at installed FireWire card in the Mac Pro.

Open FCP Log and Capture: Set Capture device FireWire PAL Anamorphic and machine control to FireWire PAL.

Running the tape works fine, setting in and outs too. When I hit “Batch capture” FCP cues the tape and tries twice to start capture. But then it says dropped frames and aborts.
