I have been using this for most of my titling. I prefer it over the FCP X Titler or jumping out to Motion. There is a free demo available.

I have only ever seen this when doing a chroma-key. If I turn off the key and move the footage it is OK. It doesn’t seem to happen all the time either so I’m not sure where the issue is. I have sent feedback on it.

It works but I find it so finicky to the point I don’t use it. I have sent feedback on it. It seems like you have to drag very precisely in either direction or it either won’t work or it constrains you in the wrong direction. Compare it to just about any other program (i.e.: Photoshop) where you can be pretty sloppy and it will “help” you once it figures out which way you’re going.

July 27, 2012 at 8:28 pm in reply to: Looping Audio Clips While Adjusting Audio Filters and EffectsActually it does work as Gerry says but there is one detail. The audio skimmer has to be on. At first it didn’t work for me either. I don’t normally use the skimmer in the timeline and typically keep it disabled but I happened to have it on and was able to adjust an audio effect while it looped.

I have a similar system to yours. I do a lot of local and regional commercials. Multiple layers of text clips always bog down my system. That being said, I am asking it to do a lot with as many as 15-20 video and text layers with effects, color correction, multiple formats on the time line. Once I looked at it from that perspective it didn’t look so bad. I render sections when I have to, keep “background” rendering set to 30 seconds so that if I’m away from the edit system rendering kicks in or I just find something else to do while the whole piece renders. I have submitted feedback requesting improved performance under these circumstances. I know they read feedback because I have gotten responses in the past.

June 29, 2012 at 1:14 pm in reply to: Keyframing a tracking attribute for a word of basic textUse the “Custom” title under the “build in/out” category. Under the “title” tab adjust “in tracking”, “in unit size”, “in spread” and “in duration” to suit.
There is also a “tracking” preset that may work for you. Forgot about that one.

See this thread. Sounds like a drive-related issue:

I’m having no such problem. Have you tried trashing prefs or re-installing FCP X?

What version of Audacity and what OS are you on? I’m using Audacity 2.0 on Lion 10.7.4 and FCP X 10.0.4 and it works fine. Are you trying to import the Audacity project and not the actual audio file you exported perhaps?
