You can build al lthis from scratch using layered textures. Dunno the particularly setup you are describing, but uit is possible to add user data even to materials/ textures and link it with XPresso, so it’s quite possible to get some interesting materials with some simple sliders for adjustments.

I’d say it’s definitely a configuration problem on your systems. The behavior seems far too specific to be a bug. If you are using a firewall, check which ports it is blocking. It may simply take a hold over your ATAPI bus and thus lead to Encore not behaving.

  • Well, depends how close after the event you need your stuff. If you mean like giving things to people as they leave the building after an event, then your options are limited and it actually most likely boils down for you to have to switch to a dedicated hardware/ software combo that very much functions like a broadcast system with realtime transcoding. Certain flavors of NewTek’s VideoToaster do this for instance. The big part is getting MPEG-II video. Once you have that, using Encore would not be a problem, assuming you are working on a reasonably fast system and the import goes at reasonable speed. If even that’s not enough, you’ll have to look into commercial archiving systems for TV stations and media agencies, but those cost real big bucks.

Create the selection just as you would normally on a single cube, but once you have saved the selection move it upward in the hierarchy to the cloner object. Sounds strange, but works. This way you can leave everything interactive without the need to bake anything.

That’s strange. The client should ask you for the serials the first time you start it.

Import your names to a normal text layer and pick one of the animation presets or create your own. Should be no problem at all. To facilitate importing the text, find yourself a JSX script. Has been discusssed often enough, sso do a search on this forum.

Check the blending options of the effect. It will mix additively, thus resulting in areas becoming brighter. Also check your RAM preview quick save template and make sure it includes Alpha information.

That’s mathematically impossible – where there is no geometry, no deformations can occur. You either need subpixel displacement with a proper displacement map or manually have to subdivide your polygons before working on them with the magnet.

Connect will not merge the vertices, it will only combine separate strips of polygons into a single mesh entity. You have to use Function –> Optimize or use the Merge tool.

Should be no problem. Just install net render and the modules and then input your serials when you launch the client. No need to install the rest of C4D.
