…they say its a OME cracked version

Interesting that the exact same wording came up on another Vegas forum yesterday. The response was identical to what Edward told you. Stay far far away from this deal.

    It’s called Film-Style Optical and it’s found at https://www.endor.demon.co.uk/
It’s a part of the SMLuminance download.
Grab the SMCubes while you’re there.

Is your preview window set to draft mode?

…or dragging from the Vegas Explorer window.

Thanks Edward. I just learned something new 🙂
I always use the Media Pool so I’ve never had to do it that way. Nice to know I can.

To add to Edward’s (excellent as usual) advice, make sure your Preview Window quality is set to Best(Full).

The “Add as Take” option works for me in Vegas 5.
Make sure you right-click it in the Media pool and then do your drag & drop over top of the image to be replaced. Once you release the mouse button, you should see a list of options.
If that doesn’t work, right-click the image to be replace in the media pool and select “replace” from the menu. Then navigate to the folder where the new image is and double-click it. Instant replacement 🙂

  • Is it Ripple Edit you’re thinking of?
Personally, I very rarely have it enabled.

The real reason that manufactured DVDs (i.e. the latest movie release) look so good is that they spend millions of $$ on the film and pay attention to detail at every step of the process.
There’s no way the average consumer will ever approach that quality.
You are your own quality control person. The old acronym GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) applies to the video world just like it does everywhere else. Do the best job of shooting your original material and follow that up with carefull editing and DVD mastering. What you’ll end up with should look almost as good as what you see on your original footage.

You can download the free DivX codec and try playing with it. DivXPro & Dr. DivX are also available for a small fee ($20 & $30 respectively).
Once installed, it’ll show up as an option in the Custom settings in Vegas.
