Free MPEG4 codec ?
I have been told, although I have yet to try it that it’s possible to get Vegas to encode using codec’s like DIVX. Is this the case & if so is there any freeware MPEG4 codec’s available just to try out this?

You can download the free DivX codec and try playing with it. DivXPro & Dr. DivX are also available for a small fee ($20 & $30 respectively).
Once installed, it’ll show up as an option in the Custom settings in Vegas.
