  • To your bonus question, the wheels being faceted is due to the model being too low-poly. You could probably solve that pretty easily by putting them in a Subdivision Surface object, but you’ll need to add some loop cuts around the edges to keep them intact. Or you could just replace them with a tube primitive. The edges on the cannon are a shading issue probably due to phong issues. You might try optimizing the model. If there’s a normal tag on it, removing it might help.

In fact, if there’s a normal tag, removing it might solve the reflection issue too.

  • Walter is right, your preferences wouldn’t have anything to do with seeing your layers. More info on your project would be useful and, as Walter mentions, a picture is worth 1,000 words.

It really depends on what you want that thread to be doing. There are things like HoRope, X-Particles, and C4D’s own spline dynamics that might do what you want.

Yeah, MP4 has to be multiples of 4.

Probably something to do with overly aggressive firewall or antivirus settings. Contacting Adobe support might be a useful next step.

If you go frame by frame, you’ll notice that all of the animated elements transition out over one frame before the transitions happen. Like, there’s a quick, one-frame fade out of the trucks/boats/etc. before the cubes start flipping. And the cubes are actually disappearing. It looks almost like Transform from GSG is being used.

There’s a way to bake a texture on dynamic clones after they’ve fallen into place, but you can also just use a target effector on the clones and bump up the Follow Rotation parameter in the dynamics tag.

This page in the AE documentation talks a lot about 360, but I don’t see any mention of options to change the field of view.

I always keep my cache on a drive that’s dedicated to the task. I want the cache to be as fast as possible, so I don’t want anything else writing or reading from it when I’m working in AE. (I use the same drive for caches for X-Particles and other software too since I’m not using those while I’m also using AE, so the drive gets use for multiple software – just not simultaneously.)

Is this when launching AE or when trying to sign in to the Creative Cloud app?

I’m in the US and am not having an issue. Where are you located?

https://status.adobe.com/ doesn’t list any issues with Creative Cloud servers at the moment anywhere in the world.
