Sounds like classic file corruption issue. Reinstall, takes 5 minutes.

No, I haven’t done any HD project yet, just gathering info, there seems to be a lot of postings on the web re vegas platinum, unable to do meaningful HD rendering, is this your experience? Do you do a lot of HD editing and outputting to blu-ray, have you outputted an entire movie on HD? What are you finding. I have a computer with I3-550 3.06 dual processor, 4 gb ram @1366 Mhz memory speed, is this a good setup for HD?

  • ? I open multiple instances of Vegas Platinum and drag / paste single events/multiple events right onto the timeline of whatever instance I want and then save that, works great!

Yes it’s a big manual task! ? No there is no “scene detection” I am aware of, just use the “S” key to make your splits, trim what you don’t need, adjust color, brightness, contrast, audio gain, select curves and crossfade and add envelopes and keyframe as required, I assume there will be transitions & you have plenty to choose from, is this what you want? No automation here, U DO IT!

Well it’s just GREAT you are available, you are a lifesaver. SONY should cut you a big CHECK Because they take a MINIMUM of 4 days to respond to ANY email tech support question – if they respond at ALL! My question to them about scrambled files on the timeline so far, HAS NOT been responded to. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being available.

Whew, fixed it but this was not easy. I had to force Vegas to find the correct file by renaming the incorrect one…alright…messages to myself…………..

? If you close whatever you’re doing, HOW then, do you SEE your changes?

  • More on this: The source events that were pasted, these were multiple events and not all from the same file. Some audio was ungrouped and from a different file than video…so what? Should be no big deal….so why did this happen?
