There is no way to “repoint” events on the timeline to different files. This is locked in as a READ ONLY property, as it should be.

Ok – the only way I have figured out how to do this is to rename or remove the media files which will bring up a FILE NOT FOUND dialog box at which time you can specify new MPG/ AC3 files/new location…is there ANY other way than this?

1. Reinstall or repair the Vegas install. DLL problems always require an install for presumed corrupt files.

Make sure you have a decent video card and all your drivers are in order. NLE is extremely demanding on all resources, your video card should be good quality, bare, bare minimum of 128 MB I just upgraded to 512 what a difference. Minimum of 1 GB ram in the system. Minimum 2.8 GHZ computer processor.

You better believe auto ripple can cause problems when you least expect it. WHEW!

WMV indeed works excellent! I rendered 12 minutes to 70 MB and it doesn’t look bad at all especially if I lighten it up and select the best rendering quality in the CUSTOM button. Yes, WMV does it.

What codec can I render to now in Vegas to keep my 12 minute film under 100 MB

Hmmm, yes I did this once for brightness and contrast as well, except the track slider envelope bar is NOT showing up, where is it?

? 14 VOB’s I did the same thing and imported .VOB files, renamed them first – they are actually MPG files, VEGAS imported them popped them on the timeline this took no time at all no frames dropped no nada…………..worked like a charm…………….
