DVD architect – Point to NEW file
Hi, in DVD architect I want my existing workspace/compilation/scene selection/menuing icons to reference a slightly different file – it is exactly the same length, except certain PIP overlays have now been removed. However I DO NOT SEE how to point to a new file within a current DVD architect workspace, AND SAVE IT AS A NEW .DAR PROJECT. I can explore the containing folder and see the current file it is referencing but that’s about it. How do I point to a new file for an existing .dar project? Perhaps I can’t do it which would be really annoying, because I constantly have slight changes for which I want to keep the identical workspace / scene selections. This is a BIG issue for me.

Ok – the only way I have figured out how to do this is to rename or remove the media files which will bring up a FILE NOT FOUND dialog box at which time you can specify new MPG/ AC3 files/new location…is there ANY other way than this?

How about if you just name the new file the same as the old file and just replace it on the hard drive. Then you can just open DVD Architect and it would automatically use the new file.
Otherwise, just double-click on the button on the menu. Now look at the “media properties” on the right. One of the categories is TRACK MEDIA. You can change the file used there. Or after double-clicking you can just drag the new file to the timeline in the lower right. Or you can just drag the new file to the main window.
Or, you can right-click the new media, right-click and drag it to the menu button, and then choose “set media”.
If you have a lot of menu items, I’d do the file naming method I mentioned first.
