Imported disc drops frames
Vegas 8 Platinum (full version, paid for): I have a dvd of a keynote speaker that I would like to put on the web as a wmv. The disk has 6 VOBs. When I choose “import camcorder disc”, Vegas creates 14 mpgs. When the mpgs are “stitched” back together to make one file, a few frames are missing on the front or back which makes the sound and picture skip slightly (and unacceptably) when it crosses that transition.
To correct this, I tried simply copying the original VOBs on the disk to a folder, then renamed them to mpg. This lowered the number of transitions to 6 but the skip is still apparent at those transitions.
I could capture the disc in its entirety with the capture card but there is a significant quality loss. I don’t have a camcorder that plays DVD discs.
Is there any way to force Vegas to capture the entire video as one file without using the capture card?
