I’ve been putting web movies up for about 3 years now, and have decided that I am going to be QT only.
I use Sorenson Pro for Mac, and, depending on the audience, vary the file size and quality.
    Some examples.
    htttp://www.edgesportfishing.com
Click on the videos link, and see what a “medium” quality i.e. 320X240 looks like. 1 minute about 1.7 megs.

Higher quality and some widescreen. The higher quality varies between 5-7 megs per minute.
I have dabbled with the Flash versions, and just don’t like them as well.

    Try this one.
    https://www.pando.com

It’s free, Mac or PC, and has been very good for me.
Largest file I have shared so far is a little over 200 megs.

AB kills me sometimes, “Yeah, we got him from the work release program”.
    Priceless.

The new Dining on Asphalt is also a lot of fun to watch.
Keep up the great work Walter.

You need to enter your serial number, but the feedback is usually quick and spot on.

December 17, 2005 at 12:38 pm in reply to: How to I get my Quicktime movie on the web?

Going to be hard to get a decent quality movie of 3 minutes length under 2 megs.
I just checked one of the websites that I manage, and the news is pretty grim.

QT movies vary, but here are the basics of what I have on the site.

    30 seconds, QT movie, 320×240 1.6 MB
    30 seconds AT movie 240×180 724KB
    1 minute 56 seconds QT movie 320×240 6.6 MB.

You can view the samples here

I really like and recommend highly Fotomagico.
I just finished a DVD slideshow in hi-res, imported to FCP and my client was astounded at the quality.
