Another way to “boost” your audio is to copy the audio track and then paste it onto the tracks below.
You can repeat this process more than once, and you will not encounter as much hiss as normally occurs when “bumping” up the volume.
This has worked well for me on several occasions.

Try exporting your audio only out of FCP, (use the exact same name as you did with your project file), Apack the audio.

Then bring it into DVDSP, should work fine.

“As someone else noted, there is no “grandfather” clause that I’ve seen yet so if you purchase FCP 4.5 today, you’ll need to purchase the upgrade later.”

However, the good news is, as found in this thread,
    https://www.uemforums.com/2pop/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=87880&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#87880
Apple is going to be willing to take the “upgrade” on a case by case basis, so that those of us with multiple updates of FCP, DVDSP, and Motion will qualify for the $499 upgrade.
    YAY.

April 8, 2005 at 11:25 pm in reply to: anyone know of good mac label software???

I use Discus, that comes with Toast, and it works fine.
Please stay away from paper labels, they are death to DVD players.
Get an Epson R200 or R300 and Ritek printable DVD-R’s 4X from Meritline.

I personally know of two people whose expensive DVD player was ruined by paper labels.

A great way to email large files is to use AOL Instant Messenger, or Ichat if you both have Macs.
All you need to do is sign up for an AIM account, have your recipient do the same.
Sign on, drag the file to the destination name, and vo
