make both graphics with the photo in it, look like a page ina book, then apply the page peel effect.

You will then nest this composition and place it onto your main comp which contains the image of the book.

Warning: Nesting alpha effects in FCP is totally lame because most of our work is DV and DV does not support alpha channels. You may want to do your upstream nest, the sequence with the page turns, using the Animation codec.

Warning: Lower your expectations. FCP is NOT a 3d simulation system.

you may have better luck in iphoto…i think you can render out a sequence with page peel effects between each photo. especially if you arent that fcp/graphic savvy

If you don’t mind spending $99, CGM makes an excellent page peel effect

One of my main problems is the lack of time. This project is going on official display in roughly a week – it’s going to be part of a presentation about books from the 1800-century, hence my wish to make the entire presentation look like a book – the best program available for me during this project is FCP. At the moment I

Aaaah, not just “something like this” – I want it -just- that way (except that the pages will turn by themselves without having a next/previos button). Howhowhow?

That’s not a page peel or a page turn effect. You’re talking about a completely different effect now. Which one do you want?
The wedding stuff is a simple basic 3D move and the layer changes content at the 90 degree point. Not easy to do in FCP but certainly possible. Motion is more approachable for this.
Isn’t very elegant, though. Might work in emulatiing pages in a photo album but it’s way too stiff to simulate pages in books.

LIke you said, it is stiff (-really- stiff) – I would really prefer to use the Page Peel-effect instead. I started out trying to use the Swing-effect which looked something like this book, before I tried Page Peel. My wish would be to have things look like that book but with “real” turning pages but I figured that if it couldn’t be done with PP I might have to go with some kind of Swing-effect and try to do some fancy frame or somesuch to make things look better.

You need a 3D application like Cinema4D to do what you want properly.

    All the best,
