Sounds like it isn’t getting installed to the correct location.
Rerun the installer choose the custom install and make sure you are installing tot he adobe mediacore folder.
If you post your OS version I can tell you the exact directory.

You should just be able to use the consolidate function to move just this projects files.

I believe File> Open Bin
I believe this functionality was added with MC 4, not in front of a machine right now maybe someone else can confirm.

You have to start a project in that format.
Once you have captured to media to a bin you can then open that bin from the original project.

from experience dealing with an array of customers upgrading is a pretty safe process. typically all you would want to do is make sure you backup your Project files.
The media won’t be touched so you don’t need to back any of that up any more so than you should be already.
I’ll get back to you when I know for certain.

It’s got to be an AE setting. Let me try to dig up what might cause it.
