    John,

I posted this in the Boris FX forum but i’ll add it here as well.

This issue here may be that the parameter is not actaully getting keyframed.

For some reason the default in Avid is to add a keyframe to active groups.

If you right click the add keyframe button in the effect editor you should be able to set it to all parameters or active paramater and then add the keyframes you need. with the adjustments.

Another way around this is to use the AVX 1.5 version of the plug.

If this does not help let us know which effect and parameters you are trying to keyframe.

    Mark,

ASpringBuffer Timeout errors are typically associated with some type of corruption.

You’ll want to try creating a new Avid user, deleting the settings files ( mcstate, site settings, and site attributes located in the Media Composer > Settings folder). Or by trying to isolate a specific effect, clip, or track.

The easiest way to do this is by playing “in to out” until you narrow down a specific are that gives you the issue.

    Matthew,

Because you know best what you need to accomplish with your tools, that’s a hard question for someone else to answer.

You can get a good idea of the differences in the products here: https://www.borisfx.com/blue/bluevsred.php

Also if you go to the Red and Blue pages and Borisfx.com there is some great information on each product, just check out the links on the lefthand side when you go there.

    Here are the links:

    Red: https://www.borisfx.com/red/
    Blue: https://www.borisfx.com/blue/

The best way to get an idea of each tool is to give them both a test drive by downloading the 14 day trial.
