Upgrading in the middle of projects scares me. I never do it.
That said… Since upgrading to FCP 7(last month) I’ve had to open/work on several FPC6 project and haven’t run into any problems.

It really depends on your workflow. I don’t move the media. I keep it in the capture scratch in the folder with the project name. then on the media drive I have an images folder, music folder, AE renders folder etc etc.. inside those folders are folders with the project names containing that specific media. That way if I need to gather all of one projects things I can just search for the project name in spotlight and move the media wehre i need it.

I’d never personally purchases an apple monitor. They are excellent monitors and I’ve never had a problem with one and they look super cool.. They are just far too expensive in my opinion.

Not necessarily…there’ll likely be a point update for leapord users…which would put your machines on different versions of software. If memory serves me correctly…even the point updates can screw you over sharing projects.
But…the most important thing about running FCS 3 on an intel is that it’s NOT SUPPORTED… that doesn’t mean it won’t work or you can’t do it. It just means Apple does not support it so you can’t get any apple help if you run into trouble.

Are you talking about a quicktime file? or the actual motion procject?
I’m slightly confused.In Motion Go into the edit menu and select project properties. Select whatever preset you need. ie…if you are working in FCP with NTSC DV footage…. Select the NTSC DV preset from the pulldown.
If you are trying to Export a quicktime movie out of Motion. Then go to File>Export…. It should be defaulted to quicktime movie….click the option button next to it. Then from the Compression pulldonw menu select whatever compression type your working with in FCP…if you’re usind DV select DV. Then export.
If you are tying to pull the motion file into FCP either import it in final cut…or while in motion grab the little file icon at the top of the porject file in the interface then hold cmnd (the apple key) and hit tab till you are back into fcp…then drop the file where you want it.

Rendering your quicktime out of motion with the same settings that your fcp timeline is set toor
Pulling the motion file directly onto the FCP timeline and rendering.

Is the entire screen solid green? or is it tinting everything green?
i had a crazy green rendering problem in motion a couple years ago.In motion if you export using the same settings as your timeline in FCP is set to…you won’t need to render.
